My name is Dennis Mohr, and I’ve lived in Colorado long enough to know that no single road trip, camping trip, or weekend drive ever covers the same ground twice. Colorado Frontiers exists because I kept taking notes on campgrounds worth returning to, scenic byways that don’t show up in the standard guidebooks, fishing spots that actually hold fish and I’m turning those notes into a website.
I explore statewide. Front Range, the mountains, southern Colorado, the Western Slope — there’s no corner of this state I’ve written off. That range of experience is what shapes everything on this site.

That means town guides built around honest recommendations, not filler. Park pages that tell you what to expect on the ground, not just what the brochure says. Campground guides based on nights actually spent under Colorado skies. And fishing and scenic byway coverage drawn from years of driving and casting across the state.
If a page is on this site, it’s because I’ve put real time into the place or the research behind it — not because it filled a content calendar.
My Colorado
I’ve camped across the state — from established campgrounds inside national parks to dispersed sites on BFS land where the nearest neighbor is miles away. I’ve road-tripped Colorado’s scenic byways in every season. I’ve fished the lakes and rivers across the state, chased both stocked and native trout, and learned which spots are worth the drive and which ones aren’t.
Colorado rewards people who pay attention. This site is my attempt to share what I’ve paid attention to.
