I began preparing for the annual Death Hike in August this week. The hike will cover 34 miles west of Yampa, Colorado. We’ll start the hike on Friday, August 11 and finish on Saturday the 12th. The first leg will include watching the sunrise at Devil’s Causeway and continue to Skinny Fish Reservoir (I hope it’s not indicative of the fish). Saturday we leave Skinny Fish Res. and head on to Trappers Lake and back to Stillwater Reservoir to finish.
I’ll continue to update on preparations and ultimately share details while on the hike. For now here’s a quick look at my fitness plan for the remaining four weeks. In general, I already maintain a consistent regimine with moderate weight training and Jiu Jitsu. I’m going to add rigorous hiking to find out where I’m at through week two. Week three I’ll go as hard as I can and week four I’ll scale back.
